On Monday, September 13th, the Price Index showed a drop in North American scrap metal prices. Scrap prices for brass, bronze, and copper fell on the Index. On the Index, stainless steel prices were also down. The price of aluminium scrap remained largely unchanged from the previous day. Steel scrap prices, meanwhile, remained stable on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
On the Index, the price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged. Prices for #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing were both $0.08 per pound lower. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright fell by $0.08 per pound as well.
Over the course of the day, the price of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85 percent Recovery fell by $0.08 per pound. Over the course of the day, the price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50 percent Recovery fell by $0.01 per pound. #3 Copper-Light copper prices fell $0.08 per pound from the previous day. Copper radiator scrap prices fell $0.01 per pound from the previous day’s levels. CuYokes and Copper Transformer Scrap pricing were unchanged from the previous day.
Copper Radiator scrap prices were unchanged from the previous day’s levels. The price of copper transformer scrap remained constant. Prices for CuYokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends were unchanged from the previous day.
Meanwhile, on September 13th, 2021, the pricing of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe remained unchanged.
On the Index, Harness Wire 35 percent Recovery and Heater cores were down $0.01 per pound.
During the day, the price of Romex Wire fell by $0.01 per pound.
Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters, and Xmas Lights pricing were unchanged from the previous day.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap prices remained unchanged throughout the day. On Index, the prices of 3003 Scrap were also stable. 356 Aluminum Wheels pricing remained constant.
The price of 6063 Extrusions/Fe remained unchanged throughout the day.
6063 Extrusions pricing were stable throughout the day.
In the meantime, pricing for 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were unchanged from the previous day.
Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe stayed unchanged in pricing. The pricing of aluminium radiators and aluminium radiators/Fe remained stable. On September 13th, 2021, the pricing for Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery stayed constant.
